I think this could be a Windoze problem, but on one of the machines on my LAN every few seconds everthing freezes - just like it has crashed - then It resumes playing normal again for a few more seconds. This happens in single and multiplayer.
Any suggestions?

256M RAM
TNT Graphics

I got good speed on one I dled about 53 megs in 4 hours. Bad thing is it didnt finish :(

hmmmm.......have you tried disconecting it from the lan to see if thats whats causing the problem?
