The last time I had to ask a girl on a date, George Bush was president and there was war in Afghanistan ... with the Soviets! I asked her, but she had tickets to Shakespeare in the park - we met in the airport (I was on a business trip) and it was a very wholesome time.
The last time a girl asked me on a date, it was the same week, same trip, and she looked like girl #2 and ... it was quite an ego boosting experience.
Soon after my best friend became my girlfriend became my fiance became my wife, and 11.5 years later ...
... I would never ask a girl out based on looks alone. Seriously, I'm just not that kind of person.
