Windows Aero theme + 3DS Max = :( - LucasForums

Ahoy! :D

This has been bugging me for quite a while now, so i've FINALLY decided to come here and see if there's a solution.

When I use the Aero theme, I go to start Max up, and I get a message saying that Max isn't compatible with Aero.

My theme changes to the (very ugly) Vista Basic. Which as you can imagine, makes me a VERY sad Forumite.

Is there a way to fix this...?

We techies are clever...but we're not magicians.... (except maybe tk) :p

everyone knows autodesk havent bothered including aero compatability in 3DS MAX 2008 ;)

It has apparently been "fixed" in 2009. You can download the 30 day product trial Here (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/mform?id=10083915&siteID=123112)

nb. as recently as June 23rd 2008 Graphics Qualification Report (http://www.autodesk.com/us/3dsmax/qualchart/3dsMax2009_windows_phaseI.htm#123), Autodesk were still recommending switching off Aero as a troubleshooting strategy. Interesting to not that they STILL havent tested DX10 in it yet :p

If you are using 2009 and it still isnt working, then you are SOL (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=SOL&r=f) I'm afraid :(

I have Max 09, but it was weird so I went back to 08...

Oh well... Never mind... :(

yeah, as long as the proggie is doing what you want, Im sure you can live with the vista basic reset for a while :p
